We do not take this journey alone. Our work is strengthened and expanded through active collaboration with these pioneering projects:
- BUGS4URATE: tackling hyperuricemia and gout by developing precision probiotics and dietary interventions targeting the gut microbiome and glycan pathways.
- DIBAN: exploring how novel microalgae and insect-derived foods interact with gut bacteria to improve metabolic health, with a focus on type 2 diabetes.
- FIBRE-MATCH: matching sustainable dietary fibers to individual gut microbiomes to promote gut health through precision nutrition.
- GLUCOTYPES: using real-time glucose monitoring, multi-omics, and AI to define individual glycemic response patterns and develop tailored nutritional strategies for diabetes management.
- INTERACTHoMiG: investigating how interactions between host biology, the microbiome, and glycans (“the triangle of sweetness”) can be modulated to prevent chronic diseases.
- NutriEV: developing extracellular vesicle-based nutritional diagnostics and therapeutics to support metabolic health.
- NUTRIMMUNE: creating genome-scale models to study how diet and microbiota influence immune responses and develop targeted nutritional interventions.

What We Share:
Despite our diverse approaches, we all share a vision:
- A personalized, evidence-based approach to nutrition.
- Integration of multiomic (microbiomic, glycomic, metabolomic…) research.
- Focus on sustainable, novel foods like fibers, probiotics, algae, and insects.
- Commitment to ethical and regulatory alignment for clinical trials and consumer safety.
Collaboration in Action:
The Pathfinder Portfolio isn’t just a list of projects—it’s a living, working community. Through cross-project working groups and joint activities, we’re:
- Co-developing diagnostics using glycomics and proteomics (GLUCOTYPES, Mentoring for Health)
- Advancing ex-vivo models for novel food testing (DIBAN, INTERACTHOMIG)
- Harmonizing clinical trial frameworks and ethical guidelines (Mentoring for Health, GLUCOTYPES, NUTRIMMUNE)
- Creating common value propositions and go-to-market strategies (GLUCOTYPES, Mentoring for Health)
- Preparing joint dissemination events, portfolio flyers, and shared communication channels.
What’s Next?
We’re preparing to launch a LinkedIn blog series and a renewed project website. One of our first updates will be a spotlight on all portfolio members and their contributions to the future of health through food.
Precision Nutrition is no longer a dream—it’s a collaborative European reality, and we’re excited to share our progress with you.
